This smart area scan camera contains a Motorola® PowerPC® with 64MB of memory, the popular Wind River Systems, Inc.’s VxWORKS® real-time operating system and Ethernet connectivity, providing for easy, inexpensive connection to personal computers. The camera is capable of standing alone in go/no-go inspection applications running custom programs, or cooperating with Data Translation, Inc.’s DT Vision Foundry, running on an Ethernet-connected PC.

Designed for area scanning, the MachineCam comes equipped with an image sensor that captures up to 30 frames per second at a resolution of 640x480 pixels. In addition to its flexibility as a progressive area scan camera for OEM manufacturing and part inspection, the MachineCam may be implemented as a security camera, a traffic control/safety monitor and a variety of other applications.
