System Overview

The Web Ranger system can be configured for industrial environments. The operator console is shown to the left in the image housed in an industrial cabinet, and overhead is the industrial camera enclosure (a modular system made up of 4 foot units bolted together to span the web). Below the camera enclosure is the high intensity lighting system with air purge capability. To the right is an enclosure containing the field wiring terminations.

The Web Ranger is a high performance, web inspection system based on smart linescan cameras which optically inspect continuous materials for surface defects. The system employs digital filter processing, adaptive background subtraction and advanced software algorithms to detect very small changes in surface properties.
